President's Note
FOOTBALL is the world’s most popular sport, This is clearly visible from the number of players playing the sport and number of fans storming the stadiums. People all over the world are super passionate about football. The Sport gives not only courage and hope, but inspires humankind. It unites everyone despite differences in culture, language, religion, and ethnic backgrounds.
Being a Portuguese dominated colony football has been largely followed by all people in the Union Territory. Development in any sports come through collaborative support from everyone and I would like to thank the untiring efforts and support offered to us from the local administration, sports department, players, clubs, officials, fans and all the sports administrators who have been associated with us.
The vision we all have at DNHDDFA is to have long term league for all age groups, which is possible with the support of all the clubs and schools. DNHDDFA also plans to have its own academy where the selected kids will be given round the year training by professional coaches. We also wish to support the players in choosing football as a career.
We also plan to concentrate on development of coaches, players and referees which will be done by organizing different AIFF coaching courses, grassroots development programs, referees’ clinics and many other football-related initiatives.
